Lambton Public Health assists licensed child care and Early Years operators to implement infection prevention and control programs and practices. Public Health Inspectors complete inspections at all licensed child care centres in Lambton County to ensure compliance.

Lambton Public Health also responds to complaints regarding food safety and environmental issues in licensed child care settings.

Lambton Public Health assists licensed child care operators:

  • Health evaluation of children for signs and symptoms of communicable disease;
  • Hygiene and disinfection practices;
  • Hand hygiene;
  • Appropriate diapering and toileting practices;
  • Maintenance of up to date immunization records for children and staff attending licensed child care; and
  • Communication with parents and staff with respect to infection prevention and control practices in the licensed child care.
