Opening a Food Premises

Food sold or served to the public must be prepared in an approved facility. If you are planning to open a new food premises, or purchasing an existing one, there are several things to consider.

"Start Smart" Package: Guidelines for Food Premises

Under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, CHAPTER H.7 all Lambton County operators are required to notify Lambton Public Health of a proposed food premises. All application forms included in this package must be completed and returned to Lambton Public Health before construction begins to ensure all requirements are met. A public health inspector will contact you to review your application.
