Building Resiliency - One Connection at a Time

Parents are the #1 influence in a teen's life; however, many parents and teens struggle to connect. In fact, at times, it can seem like a total disconnect.

"Make the Connection" is a new, community-based campaign that provides education and skills to families to help them make the connection with their teen. By making the connection, it will help create an open, trusting relationship to improve decision making skills, reduce risky behaviours, prevent alcohol and drug misuse and promote good mental health.

The brain is the last organ in the body to mature; it takes well into the 20s for it to complete. Understanding the teenage brain during the maturing process is a key to better parenting and is the first of three phases of Make the Connection campaign.
