Your home should be a safe place for children to grow, play and live.

  • Most injuries to young children occur in the home.
  • Falls, poisonings and burns/scalds are the leading injuries that send children to hospital.
  • Parents and caregivers are key to preventing injury.

Older adults are also at risk of becoming injured in the home. For example, about half of older adult falls that cause hospitalization occur in the home. There are many simple solutions to make the home safer.
