Health and education are closely related to each other. People learn better when they are healthy and are healthier when they are better educated1.

School health programs hold promise for improving academic outcomes for children2.

Using a comprehensive approach helps students live a healthy lifestyle in and out of the classroom. A health-promoting school includes staff, administrators, teachers, parents, families and other members of the community who promote healthy policies, activities and behaviours.
