This page was reviewed or revised on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 9:01 AM

Sarnia, ON – On Friday, July 21, "find your happy place" and a tobacco-free place at Sarnia's Youth CHAT (Community Health Action Team) Tobacco-Free Outdoor Movie Night featuring the animated movie 'Trolls'.

The FREE event runs from 7 - 11 p.m. at Clearwater Park behind the YMCA and Clearwater Arena. Pre-movie activities begin at 7 p.m., the movie starts at dusk.

"Almost 40% of youth start smoking because of what they see in movies," says Katie Lindemann, Youth CHAT member. "We want youth to see that tobacco-free movies are fun to watch, and Trolls sends a positive message that it's important to take care of yourself, and each other."

Trolls is an all-ages movie; parents are encouraged to attend. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. In addition to the movie, Youth CHAT and its partners, the City of Sarnia and the Healthy Kids Community Challenge Lambton Partners, will provide free popcorn, interactive games, contests, prizes and a Troll dance party.

Parents can show their support to remove smoking from movies by signing a petition and by speaking with Youth CHAT members about the issue.
